MORE POETRY

Gap

A dress itself
Or a well- ironed shirt
You see, doesn’t
Exactly work

A drive
With the car
You’ll never be able
To afford

A dream
About the person
You are never again
Meant to hold

Are you up
Looking down
In any hole?
You may find your soul
You may see your soul

Are you up
Waving the water
That fills the hole?
You may see your life
Being out of control

Stuff the gap
Generations before shaped
You are sad
You’re just not blind

Stuff as you can
The wound from being betrayed
You’re just mad
You’re not out of your mind

I really wish I could hear you read. I like poetry that uses vernacular language and I get the feeling of a great sense of rhythm in yours. Wish I could hear it.
